Like facials, chemical peels can be customized for your unique skincare concerns. Laser Lights Cosmetic Laser Center’s experienced estheticians will use a tailored chemical solution to remove damaged superficial skin to reveal a vibrant, younger-looking complexion. Chemical peels atlanta ga

Our patients enjoy these light chemical peels as they require minimal downtime while minimizing fine lines and wrinkles. It’s important to note that post-treatment care is essential for proper recovery and direct sunlight which should be avoided to protect new and healing skin.

We offer a wide variety of chemical peels to meet each patient’s needs including fruit acid peels, glycolic, Jessner’s, mandelic, salicylic, TCA and Vi peels. The fruit acid peel is one of our lightest peels and can address rough skin, regulate acne and prep skin for a deeper treatment. Many patients enjoy this peel because there is no downtime and they can return to daily activities immediately. Other light peels for sensitive skin include the mandelic peel and salicylic peel.

To reduce the signs of aging such as age spots, hyper-pigmentation, fine lines and help smooth the appearance of acne scarring, a deeper peel such as a Jessner’s peel or TCA peel may be recommended. We also offer the Vi peel which can also be used on the hands and neck in addition to the face.

In general, patients will experience slight redness and sensitivity after treatment which usually subsides within a week. In addition to our chemical peels, we offer micro-laser peels which use a light system to improve skin tone and texture.

At Laser Lights Cosmetic Laser Center we offer skincare services for the entire body, but we often have patients ask what they can do to address signs of facial aging and uneven skin tone. We offer facial rejuvenation treatments for all skin types including chemical peels, laser skin resurfacing, and micro-laser peels. facial rejuvenation atlanta ga

Since chemical peels consist of the application of specialized chemical solutions, our experienced professionals can customize a peel for your unique skincare needs. Chemical peels are beneficial in reducing fine lines and wrinkles while restoring collagen in the skin. Our fruit acid peel is one of our most mild peels available and patients enjoy the minimal to no downtime required. For a deeper rejuvenation, patients can benefit from Jessner’s and Vi Peels. The Jessner’s peel penetrates the top, dead layers of the skin to reveal healthy, new skin. This peel can also address acne concerns. The highly adaptive Vi Peel can treat numerous conditions including sun damage, wrinkles, acne, and pigmentation issues.

Our laser skin resurfacing treatments including fractionated CO2 lasers can treat deeper facial wrinkles, melasma, and acne scarring. In addition to the face, Fraxel lasers can also be used to treat the neck, chest, and hands. Micro-laser peels are also a great option for busy patients who are looking for a shorter recovery period while still eliminating dead skin and stimulating collagen production. Microdermabrasion is a non-surgical exfoliating procedure that can also smooth and soften skin with minimal downtime and discomfort.

It’s important to remember when considering these facial rejuvenations procedures to avoid direct sunlight and wear SPF of 30+ or more while your skin recovers.

Guide to Chemical Peels

With age, our skin eventually develops sun damage, age spots, fine lines, and wrinkles, but at Laser Lights, we offer a variety of treatments to minimize these concerns. Whether you’re just starting to see surface imperfections or searching for anti-aging results without surgery, we have something just for you. Since our chemical peels vary in strength, they are actually suitable for treating all types of skin conditions. If you’re not quite sure which chemical peel is right for you, check out our guide below.

It is important to understand that the name “chemical peel” comes from the treatment itself. During a chemical peel, a chemical solution is applied to the outermost layer of skin after the skin is cleansed, which typically induces peeling to eliminate the dead, outer layer of skin revealing the undamaged skin underneath. Downtime depends on the strength of the peel, but is minimal. The amount of peeling that occurs with a chemical peel usually depends on the strength of the chemicals used.

The lightest peel we offer is our fruit acid peel, which is composed of glycolic and lactic acids to smooth rough skin, regulate acne, and even out hyperpigmentation. Patients like the fruit acid peel because it requires no downtime and they can show off their refreshed appearance right away. Other patients who are in need of a deeper peel like to use the fruit acid peel as a pre-treatment to the TCA peel (trichloroacetic acid). The TCA peel is one of the strongest peels we offer and is great for reducing fine lines, age spots and hyperpigmentation. Although the treatment is not painful, patients report discomfort during the first few minutes and redness and irritation immediately following treatment that eventually subsides. Patients that choose this treatment can expect up to a week of skin peeling.

Patients with dry, acneic skin benefit from our glycolic peel, which also targets fine lines, acne scars, and melasma while stimulating collagen production. Peeling should be expected for a couple of days depending on the peel’s acid concentration. As with all of our chemical peels, we can customize the chemical peel’s strength depending on your specific needs. Patients with sensitive skin who are looking for a deeper treatment than that of our fruit acid peel can enjoy our mandelic peel that uses acid derived from bitter almond extract. Patients report reduced acne and hyperpigmentation and increased collagen production with no downtime. Patients who mainly want to focus on acne and uneven skin texture should try our salicylic peel.

While not as strong as our TCA peel, the Jessner’s peel uses salicylic and lactic acids to improve signs of aging, but is also great for patients who have moderate to severe acne or those with acne scarring. Patients should expect up to a week of peeling with the Jessner’s Peel. The latest addition to our chemical peel menu, the Vi peel corrects sun damage, minimizes lines and wrinkles, reduces acne and acne scars, and evens out hyperpigmentation. Since the Vi Peel stimulates collagen and elastin production, patients report tighter, younger-looking skin within a week of their treatment.

Our chemical peels can be used alone or in conjunction with some of our other treatments. In fact, we even offer a micro laser peel, which incorporates components of microdermabrasion, laser skin resurfacing, and chemical peel for a rejuvenated appearance. Before any treatment, our licensed estheticians take the time to thoroughly examine a patient’s skin to determine the right treatment for their skin condition, so schedule a consultation today even if you aren’t quite sure what you need. As the warm weather turns cool, our skin conditions change. You may begin to notice that your “healthy” summer glow is fading to reveal patches of irregular pigmentation. Aside from that, your skin is probably turning dry in the colder weather, but don’t let the weather get you down. Laser Lights Cosmetic Laser Center offers plenty of solutions for treating various skin conditions all year long. If you keep up with our blog, you already know that procedures like laser hair removal, laser tattoo removal, and even laser skin resurfacing are great for these colder months, but we’d like to highlight some of our non-laser treatments that will keep your skin looking great this winter.

Chemical peels are perfect for reducing mild imperfections (like sun damage and melasma), minimizing wrinkles, and restoring collagen production. Our licensed estheticians will perform a pre-skin treatment consultation prior to your peel to help determine which of our chemical peels will produce the results you’re after and complement your skin type. Once we’ve determined the type of chemical peel to perform, one of our experienced, licensed estheticians will apply a chemical solution to the outer layer of skin, which will cause the damaged outer layer of skin to be slowly eliminated over the following days (up to a week of peeling). Downtime is minimal, but we do suggest you use SPF 30 sunscreen prior to being in the sun after having a chemical peel to avoid sun damage and hyperpigmentation to newly rejuvenated skin.

We offer a variety of chemical peels that treat various skin types. People who suffer from acne, mild hyperpigmentation, rough skin and a busy lifestyle might choose our Fruit Acid Peel since it requires no downtime, while those looking to correct fine lines, melasma, or acne scarring may choose the Glycolic or Jessner’s Peel. Other types of chemical peels you’ll find on our menu are our Mandelic Peel, Salicylic Peel, and TCA Peel (Trichloroacetic Acid Peel), but we’d like to specially introduce the newest chemical peel we offer: Vi Peel.

Not only does the Vi Peel minimize sun damage, clear most acne, reduce acne scars and pigmentation problems, and smooth fine lines and wrinkles, but it actually stimulates collagen and elastin production to promote tighter, more youthful skin. With minimal downtime, you can expect the outer layer of skin to peel for up to a week to reveal refreshed, younger-looking skin. If you purchase a Vi Peel from Laser Lights before November 30th, 2011, you will receive one Vi Peel for free, so schedule your treatment today.

Laser Lights offers plenty of other treatments to care for your skin and keep you looking your best like our new Viora Reaction™ skin tightening (face & body), microdermabrasion, hand rejuvenation, and more.
