What To Know Before Considering a Chemical Peel

We recommend waiting at least a day after lighter peels before applying makeup, and at least a week for more powerful ones in order to let the skin heal properly. Why We Use SculpSure® for Nonsurgical Fat Reduction

Helping our patients achieve terrific aesthetic results that last is a major priority for us here at Laser Lights Cosmetic Laser Center. But patient safety is something that we never take for granted. So in 2016, when deciding on which nonsurgical fat reduction treatment that we wanted to offer, we did an immense amount of research before determining that SculpSure® Nonsurgical Fat Reduction was the best fit for our practice and our goals. Today, we are very happy we made this decision due to its strong safety record and the great results it produces. We thought it would be instructional to explain why.

Nonsurgical fat reduction has come a very long way in recent years. In fact, people who wish to remove unwanted fat from areas all over their body, but would prefer not to undergo liposuction surgery, have an abundance of non-invasive alternatives to choose from. However, these options are not all the same in terms of their effectiveness and patient safety. SculpSure® Nonsurgical Fat Reduction is FDA-approved to safely and effectively remove fat from all over the body including the abdomen, flanks, back, thighs, upper arms, and more.

Instead of using controlled cooling like some other popular fat reduction treatments, SculpSure® Nonsurgical Fat Reduction uses a process known as laser lipolysis to target and destroy fat cells in a treated area. During treatment, applicators are applied to the area where fat will be removed. Controlled heat energy is then delivered to the area, safely heating fat cells tissues until they begin to break down. A cooling mechanism is used to make sure that the skin will not be damaged during the treatment process. Once broken down, the body’s immune system will naturally remove the dead fat cells over the next few weeks leading to reduction of fat in the area.

Other fat removal treatments that use colder temperatures to damage and reduce fat cells can be effective, but also have the potential for certain possible harmful side effects. For example, some people have reported a condition where the fat treated using these devices can grow, harden and lodge in the body. This is known as paradoxical adipose hyperplasia, and while rare, can require surgery to correct. This is why it is important to do your research and ask the right questions. SculpSure® treatment sessions are quicker than other nonsurgical fat reduction treatments as well. A SculpSure® treatment only takes about 25 minutes.
