Laser Lights Named Atlanta’s Best Laser Hair Removal

At our cosmetic laser center (as well as at our parent practice, Southern Plastic Surgery), we place a high priority on maintaining a positive, enjoyable, family-like atmosphere. While that is one of our goals as a staff, our patients have made it particularly easy to achieve by being a true pleasure to work with. And today, we want to send all of you an extra “thank you”…for voting us Atlanta’s Best Laser Hair Removal!

Best Self magazine hosts their “Best of” contest every year for the Atlanta area, allowing the community to nominate businesses in over 120 different categories related to health and wellness before voting for their chosen winner in each category. That’s what makes this award particularly meaningful to us—that we were selected by you, our valued patients who have experienced our treatments and our service first-hand.

Laser hair removal is one of our most popular procedures at Laser Lights, and it can be performed for both men and women on nearly any area of the body, from the face to the underarms, bikini area, back, legs, arms, and even feet. The laser uses a precise light which is attracted to the pigment in your hair. As a result, the hair absorbs the light and allows it to travel down into the follicle. This damages the follicle and makes it more difficult for it to grow hair in the future. Ideally suited for patients with dark hair, this process is typically repeated over five to six treatments in order to provide comprehensive, long-lasting results. If you’ve been wanting to give laser hair removal a try (or if you’ve already seen what it can do and would like to enjoy its effects on another body area), now is the perfect time to get started! Not only is fall the perfect season to start laser treatments (because the risk of pigmentation changes is lowered with the reduced sun exposure), but throughout October 2016, you can save 20% off any laser hair removal package or treatment!

Patient care is of the utmost importance to us here at Laser Lights, from your first phone call to your treatment and follow-up, so we offer our sincerest “thank you” to everyone who voted for us in the Best Self Best of 2016 contest. If you’re ready to discuss whether you’re a candidate for laser hair removal (or any of our dozens of other cosmetic treatments), schedule a complimentary consultation. Or, even better, RSVP for our November 3^rd Holiday Open House to learn all about our services and take advantage of free giveaways and one-day-only savings. Treat Yourself to Beautiful Skin with October Specials

Uncategorized Atlanta facial rejuvenation, atlanta hair removal, Atlanta tattoo removal, laser treatments

Halloween is a favorite holiday for many kids (and even some adults), and after all, what’s not to love? They get to dress up in a fun costume, go door-to-door to show off their get-up, and collect a stash of all the junk food that’s normally off-limits. At Laser Lights Cosmetic Laser Center, we don’t think the fun should stop just because you have more candles on your birthday cake, so we found a new way to celebrate Halloween—with special offers that can help you skip the trick and treat yourself to the cosmetic treatments you’ve been pining for.

Banish Unwanted Hair

Frequent shaving can put a damper in anyone’s summer fun—who wouldn’t want to cut out that unpleasant part of their routine and spend the time doing something they enjoy instead? Since laser hair removal requires several sessions for thorough results, now is a perfect time to start your treatments so you’ll be ready to enjoy next summer stubble-free, and if you take advantage of our October special, you can get two full packages for the price of one!

Clear Away an Old Tattoo

Tattoos can be a great way to express your artistic taste or to give yourself a reminder of your experiences and philosophies, but that doesn’t mean you’ll want them there forever. Luckily, laser treatments have come a long way in removing tattoos with as little time, expense, and discomfort as possible. Plus, during October, laser tattoo removal is even more affordable when you buy one session and take 50% off the price of your second session.

Rejuvenate Your Look

One of the most common requests we hear from our patients is the desire to look younger, and fortunately, there are many ways we can help. Botox® and Dysport® are cosmetic facial injections which reduce frown lines, crow’s feet, and forehead creases by relaxing the underlying facial muscles. Or, if your “problem area” is around the mouth (like smile lines and marionette lines), facial filler injections may be able to do the trick by filling in wrinkles and refreshing youthful volume. If you’re looking for more of a full-face approach and also have concerns about your skin’s tone and texture, acne scars, or large pores, try Réjuvapen®, a micro-needling treatment which helps your skin produce more rejuvenating collagen, especially when it’s used alongside Human Growth Factor (HGF).

With savings on so many of our most popular treatments, there are plenty of ways to celebrate Halloween with us at Laser Lights, and after more than fifteen years of serving the Atlanta area, we’re honored to help you feel more confident in your appearance. To learn more about the cosmetic treatments that can address your specific needs, explore our website and schedule a consultation with us. What’s the Difference Between Laser Hair Removal for the Face and Body?

Both men and women develop body and facial hair, although facial hair for women tends to be more fine and lighter in color. At Laser Lights Cosmetic Laser Center, our licensed professionals understand that hair removal is unique depending on each patient’s skin as well as the area of desired hair removal on the face or body.

Vellus hair is the short, fine, and unpigmented hair found on most of the body. However, the density of hair or the amount of hair per area of skin varies for each individual. This is the type of hair that women tend to have on their face while male facial hair will grow darker and thicker. Since the face tends to be more sensitive and delicate than other areas of the body, the lasers’ settings are adjusted to appropriately target hair follicles without harming the surrounding skin.

Our FDA-approved, medical grade laser equipment is safe for hair removal on both the face and body including popular areas such as the bikini, legs, underarms, arms, face, and chest. Our certified laser hair removal technicians discuss with each patient their desired results and expectations. During consultation, they will be able to determine the number of treatments needed based on each patient’s skin color, hair color, and hair texture.

If you are interested in laser hair removal or our other services, please call us today to schedule an appointment. Be sure to check out our specials page for discounts on laser hair removal for November 2012. Thinking about Laser Hair Removal, Tattoo Removal or Wrinkle Treatment? What to Look for in a Reputable Laser Treatment Center

Because laser cosmetic treatment is so new, many patients are unaware that standards exist to regulate which practitioners and physicians can use the equipment and how it should be used. While the use of lasers for cosmetic and medical treatments seems like space-age technology, these criteria and rules help keep patients and physicians safe. More specifically, organizations like the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery (ASLMS) and the Federation of State Medical Boards (FSMB) regulate and determine the appropriate safety criteria for the medical and cosmetic use of lasers.

When looking for a reputable laser treatment center, it is important that the facility follow high standards of practice to ensure patient safety. The ASLMS lists training and education, patient and procedure selection, and patient safety as the three main determining factors in high standards of laser treatment practice.

Can I Have Laser Hair Removal Over An Area With A Tattoo?

Educational, In The News, Laser Hair Removal, Tattoo Removal atlanta hair removal, atlanta laser treatment, can you get laser hair removal done over a tattoo, cosmetic laser center atlanta, laser hair removal atlanta, laser hair removal Duluth, laser hair removal over a tattoo, Laser skin treatment, laser tattoo removal Atlanta, tattoos and laser hair removal

Laser hair removal is a growing trend, but what happens when a laser touches a tattoo? Tattoos, like body hair, are also removed by lasers, so having laser hair removal over a tattoo naturally seems like a bad combination. It is important to note that these treatments utilize two different lasers. Laser hair removal actually requires a stronger laser than tattoo removal, so if the hair removal laser touches the tattoo, it may not only remove or disfigure the tattoo, but can also severely burn the skin.

Lasers are attracted to pigment; therefore, tattoo ink, which is darker than skin, will easily absorb the laser’s beams. Many laser centers will not allow hair removal within a certain distance of a tattoo to protect you and your tattoo. The internet is filled with horror stories of under-educated technicians who went over tattoos resulting in burning, fading, blackening, and distorted tattoos.

Hair removal patients should not be alarmed; laser hair removal is a safe, effective procedure when performed by a properly trained professional. You should also remain honest with your doctor/ hair removal specialist and inform them of any existing tattoos ahead of time. Also, face the facts. If you have a large tattoo in an area where you want laser hair removal, you may not be a good candidate. However, if you have a small tattoo on your ankle and want the hair removed on your leg, you should consider having the hair removed around it and shaving over the tattoo. Even if only performed in a specific region, laser hair removal will still cut down your shaving time.

Please contact Laser Lights at 770-495-9322 or email info@atlaserlights.com with any questions or concerns about this subject. If you are not sure if you are a good candidate for hair removal, feel free to schedule a consultation. Also, keep reading our blog to learn more about laser therapy.
