Everyone wants to look their best when they’re headed to an event with family and friends they haven’t seen in some time, especially if they might make an appearance in pictures. At Laser Lights, our first appointment with every patient is a personalized consultation, in which you can discuss your cosmetic goals with one of our licensed and experienced medical personnel, who can evaluate your skin and recommend the ideal treatments and products for your needs. Plus, for more skin care tips and monthly special offers, follow Laser Lights on Facebook, Twitter, and Google+.
At our cosmetic laser center (as well as at our parent practice, Southern Plastic Surgery), we place a high priority on maintaining a positive, enjoyable, family-like atmosphere. While that is one of our goals as a staff, our patients have made it particularly easy to achieve by being a true pleasure to work with. And today, we want to send all of you an extra “thank you”…for voting us Atlanta’s Best Laser Hair Removal!
Best Self magazine hosts their “Best of” contest every year for the Atlanta area, allowing the community to nominate businesses in over 120 different categories related to health and wellness before voting for their chosen winner in each category. That’s what makes this award particularly meaningful to us—that we were selected by you, our valued patients who have experienced our treatments and our service first-hand.
Laser hair removal is one of our most popular procedures at Laser Lights, and it can be performed for both men and women on nearly any area of the body, from the face to the underarms, bikini area, back, legs, arms, and even feet. The laser uses a precise light which is attracted to the pigment in your hair. As a result, the hair absorbs the light and allows it to travel down into the follicle. This damages the follicle and makes it more difficult for it to grow hair in the future. Ideally suited for patients with dark hair, this process is typically repeated over five to six treatments in order to provide comprehensive, long-lasting results. If you’ve been wanting to give laser hair removal a try (or if you’ve already seen what it can do and would like to enjoy its effects on another body area), now is the perfect time to get started! Not only is fall the perfect season to start laser treatments (because the risk of pigmentation changes is lowered with the reduced sun exposure), but throughout October 2016, you can save 20% off any laser hair removal package or treatment!
Patient care is of the utmost importance to us here at Laser Lights, from your first phone call to your treatment and follow-up, so we offer our sincerest “thank you” to everyone who voted for us in the Best Self Best of 2016 contest. If you’re ready to discuss whether you’re a candidate for laser hair removal (or any of our dozens of other cosmetic treatments), schedule a complimentary consultation. Or, even better, RSVP for our November 3rd Holiday Open House to learn all about our services and take advantage of free giveaways and one-day-only savings. At Laser Lights Cosmetic Laser Center, while we offer cosmetic treatments for a wide variety of aesthetic concerns, some of our most popular procedures are those that help patients to recapture (or even improve upon) the beauty of their younger selves. This month, our specials include a few of these treatments—one a time-tested classic, and the other a piece of the latest technology in facial rejuvenation.
Chemical Peels
Chemical peels have long been a staple of many patients’ beauty regimens. While all of our peels can address several cosmetic concerns at once, their focus and extensiveness depends on the individual peel. For example, the TCA Sensi Peel® is effective in minimizing signs of rosacea, while the salicylic peel focuses on treating acne and the medium-depth TCA peel primarily addresses fine lines, wrinkles, age spots, and other signs of aging. Our August specials allow you to receive a free chemical peel with the purchase of two, so it’s a great way to try out several peels and give your skin a more comprehensive, step-by-step rejuvenation.
Réjuvapen® Micro Fractional Collagen Stimulation System
Réjuvapen® is one of the latest ways to treat fine lines and wrinkles and to give the skin a brighter, more youthful radiance. The procedure uses a technique called micro-needling to stimulate the body’s natural production of collagen—the protein that gives skin its firmness and elasticity. Specially-formulated peptides are used during the treatment, or, to give the micro-needling an extra boost, you can opt for the human growth factor instead to amplify your Réjuvapen® results.
As adults, we may not have the “fresh start” that students do at the beginning of a new school year, but you can choose to make any day the start of a new, more confident you. When many people think about cosmetic laser treatments, they think of wrinkle reduction, hair removal, and other services that are generally used by adults only. But there’s no age limit for the benefits of healthy self-confidence, which is why some laser services (as well as non-laser services) can be great ways to address several cosmetic concerns in children and teenagers.
Hemangioma Removal
Hemangiomas are abnormal blood vessel growths which tend to appear in infants and children. They can be bright red (like a strawberry) or, if they’re deeper beneath the skin, they can resemble a blue swell. While they’re quite common and generally harmless, these growths often appear in prominent areas like the neck, so they can be embarrassing for a child. Our specialized laser treatments can remove most hemangiomas after one treatment with no downtime, although two treatments are occasionally needed for larger growths.
Birthmark Removal
There are many forms of birthmarks—some are light brown and smooth (café au lait), some are darker and bumpy (congenital nevus), some are dark red (port wine stains), and some are even blue (Mongolian blue spots). For children (or patients of any age) who are self-conscious about their birthmark, laser treatments can effectively remove the mark by targeting the pigments or blood vessels beneath the skin.
Acne Treatments
Given how important self-esteem is for teens, acne can be a heartbreaking condition, especially considering that most teens will feel its effects. In fact, according to the American Academy of Dermatology, as many as 85% of people between the ages of 12 and 24 have some degree of acne. Fortunately, there’s no shortage of treatments that can help. Our acne facials are a gentle yet effective way to clear excess oil and other pore-clogging culprits. Some chemical peels, as well as our popular Silk Dermalinfusion® microdermabrasion-like treatment can also help to minimize pimples, inflammation, and other symptoms of acne.
Acne Scar Reduction
For many teens, the effects of pimples can last long after they’ve disappeared. When pimples cause damage to the skin, they can leave behind a scar, whether it’s an indentation, a raised bump, or an area of darker skin. The treatment for acne scars depends on the type of scar, as well as the patient’s individual needs. Many chemical peels can minimize scars by removing the damaged surface skin to reveal fresher, younger skin beneath, and Silk Dermalinfusion® microdermabrasion uses a similar approach. Réjuvapen® facial rejuvenation is another effective acne scar removal treatment, which uses tiny micro-needles to break up the scar tissue and allow new collagen to form, creating a smoother complexion.
Every parent wants the best for their child and wants their child to feel confident in their appearance. While the idea of cosmetic procedures for children and teens may be concerning, at Laser Lights Cosmetic Laser Center, we’ve served the Atlanta area since 1999 and we only utilize lasers and treatments that have been proven safe and effective for our patients. To learn more about helping your child be more comfortable in their own skin, schedule a consultation at Laser Lights. As the warm weather turns cool, our skin conditions change. You may begin to notice that your “healthy” summer glow is fading to reveal patches of irregular pigmentation. Aside from that, your skin is probably turning dry in the colder weather, but don’t let the weather get you down. Laser Lights Cosmetic Laser Center offers plenty of solutions for treating various skin conditions all year long. If you keep up with our blog, you already know that procedures like laser hair removal, laser tattoo removal, and even laser skin resurfacing are great for these colder months, but we’d like to highlight some of our non-laser treatments that will keep your skin looking great this winter.
Chemical peels are perfect for reducing mild imperfections (like sun damage and melasma), minimizing wrinkles, and restoring collagen production. Our licensed estheticians will perform a pre-skin treatment consultation prior to your peel to help determine which of our chemical peels will produce the results you’re after and complement your skin type. Once we’ve determined the type of chemical peel to perform, one of our experienced, licensed estheticians will apply a chemical solution to the outer layer of skin, which will cause the damaged outer layer of skin to be slowly eliminated over the following days (up to a week of peeling). Downtime is minimal, but we do suggest you use SPF 30 sunscreen prior to being in the sun after having a chemical peel to avoid sun damage and hyperpigmentation to newly rejuvenated skin.
We offer a variety of chemical peels that treat various skin types. People who suffer from acne, mild hyperpigmentation, rough skin and a busy lifestyle might choose our Fruit Acid Peel since it requires no downtime, while those looking to correct fine lines, melasma, or acne scarring may choose the Glycolic or Jessner’s Peel. Other types of chemical peels you’ll find on our menu are our Mandelic Peel, Salicylic Peel, and TCA Peel (Trichloroacetic Acid Peel), but we’d like to specially introduce the newest chemical peel we offer: Vi Peel.
Not only does the Vi Peel minimize sun damage, clear most acne, reduce acne scars and pigmentation problems, and smooth fine lines and wrinkles, but it actually stimulates collagen and elastin production to promote tighter, more youthful skin. With minimal downtime, you can expect the outer layer of skin to peel for up to a week to reveal refreshed, younger-looking skin. If you purchase a Vi Peel from Laser Lights before November 30th, 2011, you will receive one Vi Peel for free, so schedule your treatment today.
Laser Lights offers plenty of other treatments to care for your skin and keep you looking your best like our new Viora Reaction™ skin tightening (face & body), microdermabrasion, hand rejuvenation, and more.
