More Non-Surgical Treatments Available at Southern Plastic Surgery
You may not realize it, but Laser Lights Cosmetic Laser Center isn’t a standalone skin care center. We’re part of a family alongside Southern Plastic Surgery – the surgical practice of our Medical Director and owner Dr. David Whiteman. For the most part, we provide cosmetic surgery at Southern Plastic Surgery and non-surgical cosmetic procedures at Laser Lights. However, there is also a small yet powerful selection of non-surgical procedures available at Southern Plastic Surgery as well. To help you understand your many options, here’s a quick guide to the non-surgical offerings at Southern Plastic Surgery.
Botox® and Dysport® Injections
Certain facial wrinkles are caused by repeated facial expressions you make over the years – namely crow’s feet, frown lines between the eyebrows, and forehead lines. The muscles eventually become tense and pucker the skin above them. In these cases, the best way to smooth the wrinkles is to relax and smooth out the underlying muscles, and this is the purpose that Dysport® and Botox® injections serve. These injections temporarily block the nerve signals to select muscles when injected by a precise and experienced hand, relieving these wrinkles for up to four months while keeping them from worsening. While Dr. David Whiteman offers these injections at Southern Plastic Surgery, our Registered Nurse at Laser Lights offers them as well.
Facial Filler Injections
Other types of facial wrinkles are caused by the thinning of your skin and loss of facial volume other time. These primarily include “parentheses” on the sides of the mouth, nasolabial folds (lines between the nose and mouth), marionette lines below the mouth, lines above the top lip, and more. For these wrinkles, the best treatment is typically to use injectable facial fillers like Restylane®, Juvéderm®, Radiesse®, and Expression® to “fill in” the lost volume and reduce the appearance of the wrinkles. Like Botox® and Dysport®, you can get your facial filler injections from either Southern Plastic Surgery or Laser Lights.
Kybella® Fat Reduction Injections
While liposuction is the most well-known way to reduce stubborn unwanted fat and produce more desirable contours, Kybella® fat reduction is a new option for select areas. This relatively new product is injected into either the “double chin” area or the “bra bulge” (a pocket of fat near the armpit). Kybella® is made of deoxycholic acid, a natural substance in your body that helps to break down the fat you eat. When it’s injected into these specific areas by a skilled and experienced professional (such as Dr. Whiteman at Southern Plastic Surgery or our Registered Nurse at Laser Lights), Kybella® breaks down the stored fat and removes it through your body’s natural functions.
Cellulaze™ Cellulite Reduction
As common as it is, cellulite is known as one of the most difficult cosmetic problems to treat. It’s caused by a combination of fat buildup under the skin, rigid connective tissues pulling down on the skin’s surface, and thinning skin due to aging. Cellulaze™ is a revolutionary procedure that addresses all three of these causes for a comprehensive, long-lasting result. Using an advanced laser, Cellulaze™ cellulite reduction breaks down the layer of fat under the skin, releases rigid connective tissues, and initiates your natural collagen production to make the skin firmer and youthfully thicker.
