Your Guide to Cosmetic Laser Treatments
As a comprehensive cosmetic treatment center, all of us at Laser Lights Cosmetic Laser Center are proud to provide our patients with the aesthetic services they need to look and feel their best, from acne treatments to microneedling to facials and chemical peels. However, lasers are our specialty, and they can do far more for your appearance than most people realize. To help you have a better understanding of the many ways lasers can enhance and illuminate your natural beauty, we’ve compiled a quick summary of the laser treatments we offer and why they might be the right choice for you.
Age Spot, Freckle, and Mole Removal · While they can have different causes and take different forms, age spots, freckles, and moles are all generally caused by excess melanin (or pigment) in your skin. Laser mole removal and similar procedures can break down these pigments and allow the body’s natural healing process to eliminate them.
Rosacea and Facial Redness Treatments · Whether you’ve been diagnosed with rosacea, you’re experiencing a frequent and persistent blushing of your facial skin, or you’re developing red facial veins with age, this redness can be embarrassing and difficult to conceal, but our laser treatments can directly minimize the enlarged blood vessels that cause your symptoms, providing long-lasting relief.
Spider Vein Removal · Using a specialized laser, we are able to target individual spider veins, causing them to progressively fade after just a few treatments with little or no downtime.
Photo Rejuvenation · While photofacial rejuvenation can resolve many of the same concerns as laser skin resurfacing, like age spots, fine lines, wrinkles, and facial scarring, this procedure uses pulses from a unique laser for deeper, more directed treatment.
Scar Reduction · Whether your facial scarring was the result of acne, chicken pox, injury, or surgery, we offer a variety of laser and non-laser treatment options depending on the details of your scars and your unique needs.
Hemangioma and Red Spot Removal · Whether they’re occurring in childhood or adulthood, red spots on the skin are formed by abnormal growths of blood vessels, and a specific wavelength of laser targets the unnecessary blood vessels to allow your body to remove them naturally.
Laser Skin Resurfacing · Laser resurfacing involves using lasers for overall facial rejuvenation by removing dead and damaged surface skin and helping your skin produce youthful collagen. Depending on your needs, we offer three types: fractionated CO2 laser skin resurfacing, erbium laser skin resurfacing, and micro fractionated CO2 laser skin resurfacing.
Birthmark Removal · There are two primary categories of birthmarks: pigmented (made up of excess pigments in the skin, like brown marks) and vascular (made up of abnormal blood vessels, like port wine stains). While they require different methods, both types of birthmarks can typically be removed with specialized lasers.
Laser Hair Removal · By targeting and damaging each hair follicle, laser hair removal produces long-lasting results for nearly any area of the body, especially after six to eight sessions are completed. Despite common misconceptions, this treatment can be safe and effective for all skin types when using advanced lasers and experienced technicians like those at Laser Lights.
Tattoo Removal · While tattoo ink is injected into the dermis (the dense, deeper layer of the skin), laser treatments use targeted energy to break the ink into tiny particles so the body can remove them through its natural healing process. We use some of the latest tattoo removal technology, which allows us to address all ink colors and achieve more thorough results with fewer sessions.
Lasers are an extremely versatile and effective tool for a wide array of cosmetic issues. However, it’s important to remember that aesthetic treatments are still medical procedures, so you should be selective when choosing a facility and a practitioner. At Laser Lights, for instance, we’re members of the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery (ASLMS), a highly regarded professional organization for medical and cosmetic lasers and the largest organization of its kind in the industry, and have been serving the Atlanta area for over fifteen years.
