Medical Grade Lasers for Hair Removal
Laser hair removal is an effective way to eliminate unwanted hair, providing individuals with long lasting results. Both men and women frequently choose hair removal for areas like the face, chest, legs, underarms, arms, back, and bikini area.
At Laser Lights Cosmetic Laser Center, our experienced laser specialists use only FDA approved, medical grade lasers when performing a treatment. Medical grade lasers are important as they emit focused laser beam, coupled with highly trained laser technicians to provide patients with excellent results. These lasers allow the technician to adjust and customize settings to a patient’s skin type and hair color. During an initial consultation, we will discuss your desired results for hair elimination while determining how many treatments may be needed. In general, patients will need at least two to six treatments as the treatment only works when the hair is in its growth cycle.
Our lasers use a high-energy beam of light that can transfer energy through the skin, targeting the hair follicle. The follicles that produce hair are then damaged, inhibiting future hair growth, as they’re heated. Sometimes patients confuse IPL, or intense pulsed light, with laser hair removal. IPL uses a full spectrum of light wavelengths rather than a single beam of light. With the broader spectrum, IPL treatments can be less precise than laser hair removal which can also lead to an increase risk of burns if not performed by an experience provider.
