Q: How many treatments will I need for my laser hair removal to be permanent?
A: For Laser Lights to permanently remove your hair by laser, generally 3-5 treatments are necessary. This varies person-by-person, though, as everybody has different skin and different hair.
Q: Is laser surgery expensive?
A: At Laser Lights, we pride ourselves on having our services available at very reasonable prices. Compared to many other salons, our prices can’t be beat. Laser treatments are very affordable, much to the surprise of several patients.
Q: Will laser treatments leave a scar?
A: Scarring is rare and generally, any scabs that appear post-treatment vanish in a short period of time, two weeks or less. Hyper-pigmentation (darkening of the skin) can be a minor risk for certain skin types and should this occur the effect is temporary and will vanish in time; however, we have lasers that are FDA approved to laser any skin color, including suntanned skin. Hypo-pigmentation (permanent lightening of the skin) is extremely rare and we have not had a case of this at Laser Lights. It is important to note that our medical grade equipment and experienced staff deters the chances of this occurring.
Q: Are laser treatments painful?
A: Our procedures do not have any major pain associated with them. However, there are certain laser treatments that can cause slight discomfort at the time of the procedure based on the section of the body undergoing treatment.
Q: What does having 12 lasers mean to me?
A: Laser Lights uses 12 different types of lasers because every laser operates at a different frequency according to your skin type and the type of treatment you may require. Dark hair on light skin versus dark hair on dark skin use different lasers, for example, as do treatments for freckles versus hair.
Q: What is the importance of being a member of the American Society for Laser Medicine & Surgery?
A: At Laser Lights, we are committed to providing every patient with safe and effective laser treatments. As a member of the American Society for Laser Medicine & Surgery (ASLMS), our office is dedicated to instituting the latest research, education and clinical care in the field of medical lasers. The ASLMS organization sets practice guidelines and safety standards for laser use. Practice experience and educational demonstration is required for membership.
