Microdermabrasion is non-surgical exfoliating procedure that smoothes and softens skin and erases mild imperfections by partially or completely removing the dead, outermost layer of skin called the stratum corneum. Two of the greatest assets this procedure boasts are no downtime and no discomfort.

It should be noted that smoothing and softening skin is not the only reason to get a microdermabrasion treatment at Laser Lights. Many people use microderm in order to reduce or eliminate past skin scars or pits formed from severe cases of acne in the past. Microdermabrasion is much more effective on raised scars than sunken scars, though this also depends on the size and severity of each kind of scar. Using microdermabrasion as an alternative treatment for acne is not unheard of, though the treatment must be periodically repeated for an effective result.

Not all Microdermabrasion equipment is created equal. Because we have a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon on staff, at Laser Lights Plastic Surgery and Cosmetic Laser Center, we carry only FDA approved Microdermabrasion equipment certified for physicians only which is a more advanced machine than most centers and salons offer.
