Hand Rejuvenation Services at Laser Lights

It is human nature for a person to be concerned about his or her appearance, especially of our faces since they’re almost always exposed. However, the hands are usually exposed just as often as the face, and to make matters worse, the hands often give away a person’s true age because there are few camouflaging options. Although many of the treatments we offer at Laser Lights Cosmetic Laser Center are designed to rejuvenate the face or body, we also offer hand rejuvenation services. As recently reported in an article by the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons, hand lift services are becoming more readily available for patients looking to mask signs of aging.

No one wants to wear gloves all of the time, especially not during the summer months. Environmental exposure combined with the natural aging process can cause the hands to appear aged. Patients who seek hand rejuvenation typically complain about lost volume, age spots (melasma), and unsightly veins. It is important to take care of your hands just like you take care of your face and other skin. Be sure to moisturize and wear an SPF 30 sunscreen on your hands every day. Paraffin wax treatments are perfect for softening the skin and locking in moisture to preserve a youthful appearance, but if you’re past the preservation stage, Laser Lights also offers treatments to repair signs of aging.

There are a variety of ways to even out the hand’s skin tone. Although most often considered facial treatments, Erbium laser treatment, chemical peels, and photo rejuvenation can be used to reduce sun spots, discoloration, and other pigmentation issues. Then, Dr. David Whiteman can inject dermal fillers (i.e. Restylane® or Radiesse®) into the hands to plump lost volume and reduce fine lines and wrinkles.

What Cosmetic Skin Treatments does Laser Lights Perform?

There’s more to Laser Lights Cosmetic Laser Center than just our laser treatments. We have a variety of spa services to offer patients. Since Laser Lights is co-owned by our laser director Patricia Daniel, R.N. and our medical director David Whiteman, M.D., F.R.C.S.(c), we are able to perform treatments with medical-grade equipment and the highest quality products. Although we offer services like laser hair removal, spider vein reduction, and skin resurfacing treatments, we still provide other non-laser services to boost your morale as well as your complexion.

While some patients visit Laser Lights for medical procedures such as wart or birthmark removal, others come for a relaxing massage or facial. If you aren’t sure what your skin needs, we start with a pre-skin treatment consultation to formulate a care plan just for you. Our younger patients who still suffer acne breakouts may benefit from acne light therapy, a chemical peel, microdermabrasion, or even an acne facial. However, our chemical peels, microdermabrasion, and facials aren’t just for acne sufferers—we offer a variety of types and strengths to benefit patients who are more concerned with signs of aging like sun spots, acne scars, fine lines and wrinkles.

Although many of our services are intended to enhance the face, our menu also includes relaxing body treatments like hand rejuvenation, skin tightening, massage therapy, and paraffin wax for hands and feet. Hands can start to show signs of aging sometimes before the face. Often combined with facial rejuvenation treatments, we perform anti-aging treatments on the hands to increase moisture and reduce wrinkles.

Our non-surgical facelift alternative Viora Reaction™ improves skin texture through the power of radiofrequency energy and works to stimulate collagen production, tighten loose skin on the body, reduce cellulite, and even diminish the appearance of stretch marks.

If you’re interested in learning more about our services, both laser and non-laser, be sure to browse our website or contact us. Don’t forget that we offer monthly specials, so check our blog, Facebook, and Twitter regularly to make sure you don’t miss out.

Chemical Peels Can Help Skin Glow All Winter Long

As the warm weather turns cool, our skin conditions change. You may begin to notice that your “healthy” summer glow is fading to reveal patches of irregular pigmentation. Aside from that, your skin is probably turning dry in the colder weather, but don’t let the weather get you down. Laser Lights Cosmetic Laser Center offers plenty of solutions for treating various skin conditions all year long.  If you keep up with our blog, you already know that procedures like laser hair removal, laser tattoo removal, and even laser skin resurfacing are great for these colder months, but we’d like to highlight some of our non-laser treatments that will keep your skin looking great this winter.

Chemical peels are perfect for reducing mild imperfections (like sun damage and melasma), minimizing wrinkles, and restoring collagen production. Our licensed estheticians will perform a pre-skin treatment consultation prior to your peel to help determine which of our chemical peels will produce the results you’re after and complement your skin type. Once we’ve determined the type of chemical peel to perform, one of our experienced, licensed estheticians will apply a chemical solution to the outer layer of skin, which will cause the damaged outer layer of skin to be slowly eliminated over the following days (up to a week of peeling). Downtime is minimal, but we do suggest you use SPF 30 sunscreen prior to being in the sun after having a chemical peel to avoid sun damage and hyperpigmentation to newly rejuvenated skin.

We offer a variety of chemical peels that treat various skin types. People who suffer from acne, mild hyperpigmentation, rough skin and a busy lifestyle might choose our Fruit Acid Peel since it requires no downtime, while those looking to correct fine lines, melasma, or acne scarring may choose the Glycolic or Jessner’s Peel. Other types of chemical peels you’ll find on our menu are our Mandelic Peel, Salicylic Peel, and TCA Peel (Trichloroacetic Acid Peel), but we’d like to specially introduce the newest chemical peel we offer: Vi Peel.

Not only does the Vi Peel minimize sun damage, clear most acne, reduce acne scars and pigmentation problems, and smooth fine lines and wrinkles, but it actually stimulates collagen and elastin production to promote tighter, more youthful skin. With minimal downtime, you can expect the outer layer of skin to peel for up to a week to reveal refreshed, younger-looking skin. If you purchase a Vi Peel from Laser Lights before November 30th, 2011, you will receive one Vi Peel for free, so schedule your treatment today.

Laser Lights offers plenty of other treatments to care for your skin and keep you looking your best like our new Viora Reaction™ skin tightening (face & body), microdermabrasion, hand rejuvenation, and more. Be sure to take a look at our website to learn more about the services we offer. Also connect with us on Facebook and Twitter for updates on skincare news and specials.

Check out the HAND-ful of Treatment Options Available to Improve the Look of Your Hands

People say that you can always tell a person’s true age by the look of their hands.  That is because we spend hundreds to thousands of dollars and hours a day working to ensure that we put our best and youngest face forward, but we often neglect the look of our hands – an equally visible part of our body.

Just like our face, our hands are exposed to daily sun damage – making them equally susceptible to wrinkles and age spots.  Additionally, our hands are one of the first parts of the body to “thin out” – causing wrinkles, loose skin, and a lack of youthfulness.   At Laser Lights Plastic Surgery and Cosmetic Laser Center, we acknowledge the importance of keeping your hands looking as young as you do.  Read below for several hand rejuvenation treatment options available at our laser and cosmetic center:

  • Paraffin wax treatments: Designed specifically for the hands to moisturize and soften your skin.
  • Laser Treatments: Consider an Erbium Laser Peel to reduce the look of wrinkles or target specific age spots and skin discoloration caused by the sun.
  • TCA Chemical Peels: A chemical peel removes the upper layer of damaged skin to reveal the healthy, youthful skin underneath.
  • Skin Care Product Line: We offer multiple skin care products that can moisturize your hands and reduce the look of wrinkles.  We even have products that moisturize with SPF, so that you can help prevent further damage.
  • Dermal Filler Injection: Double board certified plastic surgeon and part owner of Laser Lights, Dr. David Whiteman, can inject a popular facial filler, like Juvederm® or Restylane® into your hands to restore youthfulness and fill-in some of the volume lost with age.
